H+R - Quidi Vidi Winter Wedding
Winter wedding in Quidi Vidi, Newfoundland
I had planned to blog a lot more this year, but 2021 seemed to have other plans.
Holly and Ryan got married a few days before New Year's (pre-covid). With winter weddings in Newfoundland, it's hard to plan for anything outside because the climate is so unpredictable. On the day of the wedding, we had a weather warning for snow. But Holly, Ryan and their crew were adamant they would do some photos outside.
The day started at The Inn at Mallard Cottage. It was my first time there, and I fell in love with their space. Not only was the interior beautiful, but it had incredible views of Quidi Vidi, and the staff were super accommodating.
After getting ready, the couple decided to do a first look together without anyone else around. This tradition isn't for everyone, but I love getting to capture the moment two people see each other for the first time on their wedding day. There is always so much emotion, and it gets rid of some of the ceremony's stress. Afterwards, we walked around the area and took some photos of the wedding party, including their adorable dog.
The ceremony was at The Rocket Room. It is such a stunning space for an intimate wedding or gathering. And it gave us the chance to take some photos downtown while the snow was falling.
They ended their night at Quidi Vidi Brewery, which had the perfect space to eat, drink and party the night away.
