Corner brook, Newfoundland Wedding

Luxury wedding on the west coast of Newfoundland

Cox’s Cove, Newfoundland is located only 30 minutes outside Corner Brook. I hadn’t heard of it before until I received an inquiry about photographing M + S’s wedding there last summer. I had to google where it was and immediately was so excited when they decided to book me. While I love St. John’s, the west coast of Newfoundland has a special place in my heart.

I made the long journey across the island the day before. For travel weddings, I always makes sure I can be there early enough to check out some locations. While they currently live in another province, M was from here and had a few spots in mind he wanted to go for photos. For such a small place, there were so many beautiful locations. What I love about small town Newfoundland is you usually get most locations to yourself.

The day of the wedding was sunny with a few clouds. They spent the morning setting up the ceremony spot before getting ready together. The bride wore a vintage Alexander Mcqueen gown from Shrimpton Couture in Paris. I don’t like to pick favorites, but it was one of my favourte dresses ever. The colour and detailing were oh so stunning and suited her so well.

They had their ceremony outside with a view of the ocean and hills in the background. From there we headed out to take some portraits of just the two of them. Originally they had wanted to go on a ride in the dory, but the wind was a bit strong so instead they climbed aboard one that was docked for a few photos.

On the way to our second location we decided to stop into the store for a few snacks. Newfoundland is known for its fries, dressing and gravy so they got some to share on the beach with some champagne. While taking photos we made a joke about jumping into the ocean and S said that if no one was at the waterfall they wanted to go to, they might go for a swim. Luckily, when we arrived it was empty so they went for a quick dip before heading back to change before their reception.

It was such a beautiful day and I am so glad I got to be a part of it.
